Day 2: Sunday May, 20 (Anchorage)
Anchorage–Talkeetna
After breakfast, board your luxury motorcoach and travel north to the mountain climbing community of Talkeetna. Along the way, learn about the Iditarod Sled Dog Race or, as Alaskans call it, the Last Great Race. Upon arrival in Talkeetna, enjoy time at leisure exploring this quaint town. This afternoon, your Tour Director will take you on a special historical walking tour. (B,D)
Day 3: Monday May, 21 (Anchorage)
Talkeetna–Denali National Park
Board the worldfamous ALASKA RAILROAD to travel to Denali National Park. Watch for scenic views of Mt. McKinley, the highest mountain in North America at 20,320 feet. Your tour includes two nights at Denali Park at the Grande Denali Lodge. (B,D)
Day 4: Tuesday May, 22 (Anchorage)
Denali National Park. Tundra Wilderness Tour
This morning is at leisure to explore on your own. This afternoon, travel deep into Denali National Park on the seven-hour TUNDRA WILDERNESS TOUR, watching for grizzly bear, moose, caribou, Dall sheep, and many others. A box lunch is provided. (B,L)
Day 5: Wednesday May, 23 (Fairbanks)
Denali National Park–Fairbanks
Travel north by motorcoach from Denali to Fairbanks. After a brief orientation tour, board the Riverboat Discovery for a delightful CRUISE down the Chena and Tanana Rivers. You will stop at a recreated Athabascan village along the river. This evening, enjoy an authentic salmon bake. (B,D)
Day 6: Thursday May, 24 (Fairbanks)
Fairbanks–Valdez
Traveling south from Fairbanks, the Richardson Highway parallels the famed Trans-Alaska Pipeline, which runs 800 miles from the oil fields at Prudhoe Bay to the port of Valdez. Enjoy a group dinner this evening in Valdez. (B,D)
Day 7: Friday May, 25 (Fairbanks)
Valdez–Prince William Sound–Whittier
Today you CRUISE through some of the most spectacular waterways in Alaska, complete with mighty glaciers, soaring mountains, and wilderness islands. Watch for sea otters, orcas, eagles, and whales. On arrival in Whittier, travel to the deluxe Alyeska Prince Resort, nestled in a lovely valley in the Chugach Mountains. (CB,L,D)
Day 8: Saturday May, 26 (Fairbanks)
Whittier. Excursion to Kenai Fjords National Park
After breakfast, travel via the ALASKA RAILROAD south to Seward on the Kenai Peninsula. On arrival, enjoy a CRUISE into Kenai Fjords National Park. Keep a sharp eye out for bald eagles, whales, puffins, otters, sea lions, and tidewater glaciers, Lunch is included onboard. Return to Alyeska Resort via the scenic Seward Byway. Tonight, enjoy a sumptuous Alaska seafood buffet at the hotel. (B,L,D)
Day 9: Sunday May, 27 (Fairbanks)
Whittier–Anchorage
After breakfast at the Alyeska Prince Resort, travel along the beautiful Turnagain Arm north toward the Anchorage Airport to connect with your flight home. Please schedule flights after 10:30 a.m. (B)
